Down in the dumps RFC 0:1 QPR 4.2.11

Oh well, the last laugh was with Neil Warnock then. Unfortunately we showed all the potential and had loads of half chances, and Kenny was QPR’s man of the match making some good saves. But we came away with nothing.

Not only was the game played on a Friday which means the weekend is looking quite long and empty of sporting highlights, but we go into the weekend knowing we already will end it with no points, rather than waking up Saturday morning full of anticipation.

The Royals and Wales lost on Friday, so it’s a pretty gloomy household from a sport perspective.

QPR had one shot on target! But unfortunately for the Royals who had four, it was the only attempt on target all night that found the back of the net. Which shows it’s quality finishing that counts. You can have all the attempts on target you want, but unless they are actually finished off, you may as well have none.

So all in all out of a possible 6 points this week we ended up with 1. I was really looking forward to this week, and now it’s over it’s been quite a disappointment.

Desperately trying to hold onto a bit of perspective, the game away to Cardiff was ok result wise, although we all know it could have been even better, but the result at home to QPR who have not won at the Madejski stadium before, was a real disappointment.

There are many games to play yet this weekend so it’s too early to see what this means for the table, but these two results can’t have helped.

Away to Norwich next – another top of the table game. Unfortunately whilst our form has been pretty good, it’s not been fantastic against top of the table opposition. So it’s probably best not to expect too much.
